Karnival Korpus 08/12
With a sound steeped in classic psychedelia and rock riffage, Karnival Korpus is a band that takes you on a ride from the smoke-filled dive bars and festival tents of the 60s to the arenas and concert halls of the 70s. Their influences are both classic and modern bands have all played a part in shaping the Karnival Korpus sound.
Karnival Korpus was formed in 2010 from the remains of folk-pop outfit Hogweed and consists of Harald on vocals and guitar, Lars Ivar on guitar, Einar on bass and Anders on drums
Reviews:
Metal Norge

“First of all, what a misleading name. Karnival Korpus’s sound is steeped in blues-rock riffage, with slight nods to Sixties psychadelia and Southern rock. Far from their roots in folk-rock band Hogweed, you’ll also want to discard any assumptions you have previously made about Norwegian music.
This is a hidden gem of modern blues-rock. Although clearly harking back to Sixties and Seventies influences like Cream, the sound is bang up-to-date with darker tones closer to grunge and “stoner rock”. “
Powerplay
“This Norwegian band have risen from the ashes of folk rock band Hogweed. Now they pursue a sound indebted to the late 60s and early 70s with its woozy hypnotic riffs and old school soloing, but also bring it into the new millennium with its post grunge and stoner features that recall the likes of Clutch.”

“One would think having to do with a long-lost recording of an unknown band/ project of the old days!”
Uber Rock
With no picture of the band to go by, just the four tracks on this EP, Karnival Korpus took me a little by surprise.
